it is not going to make it to 60F tomorrow here in the heartland. i am sweating bullets that snow will soon be falling, and not just falling but dumping out the sky. i am drenched in fear of the coming season. Wii weather says it is currently 51F and tomorrow night's low will be 30F. That is more than just freezing!

Jeremie and I are home today watching my cousin Smessica's baby. We have gone to the park in the rain. Whoohoo! We have crossed the trestle bridge over the Superfund site Kalamazoo River! We went to the store and got some jiffy muffin mix and I have baked up some mini bundt cake muffins for work! Now Malaccah is taking a nap in his pack-n-play and I am settling in with the Wii. This is what a hookey day off work should be.
I got some great photos the last few days, and I think I have some fair contenders for next year.
This was the oddest weekend, at least oddest in freebies?? I attended the Otsego Fest yesterday with Kami and her daughters and the neighbor and her daughter and yet another random daughter from down the street of an as of yet unmet mother... So Otstinko Fest closes down the M89 and diverts traffic so that a classic car show, a parade, many Jesus freaks and pet lovers (I'll get to this later) can prance down the road and sell their wares and their religion - as long as it is christian. Whoa and we had some serious selling going on!
No where else have I lived where you can walk into a church parking lot, complete a small survey about your christian beliefs and then be given FREE lunch, FREE games, FREE prizes and FREE desert. 100% FREE. Simply amazing. I must confess that I put bogus contact info on the survey. May I go to hell in a bucket? Name, church attended, address, phone number, and how many kids are you bringing to the carnival? What church do I attend? ha ha ha. I must also confess that I am too much of a chicken shit to write down on the form exactly what I wanted!
So onward we walked through the "highway" past restored cars and tractors. Past elephant ear vendors and Cider presses. Then came the parade!
At this parade you stand up when the American flag waltzes past you, be it American Legion or some random kid waving a plastic mini flag. These people are proud of their flag. There was standing and sitting and standing and hooting and hollering for every flag that walked by. I imagine that if the confederate flag waved happily by that most of these people would have cheered it as well.
This parade culminated with at least 15 tractors and 10 fire engines heading by and just when you think it is over BAM! They hit you with the Pet Parade! People dressing up and dressing their dog up in the same kind of outfit. So we had the Bee Family, the Ballet Family, the Pretty Pink Princess Family. A hurl fest to say the least. Small towns sure are something.
After the festival we walked back to Kami's and loaded up in the car heading towards Fennville, home of the soon to come Goose Festival. Yesterday we stopped in at Crane's U-Pick and got ourselves some McIntosh baking apples, some Honey Crisp apples and some raspberries. We also got into trouble for having an apple fight in the orchard. No craziness allowed in the orchard!
