The Diners Drive-Ins & Dives Tour
So this morning on a whim I decided to head to Lake MI to see the icebergs one last time this season and when we got there, all had melted away. It was both a joyous look ahead to spring and a let down that the alien ice garden was gone.
What to do next? I asked jeremie if he was hungry and he told me he was so I started driving north towards Rosie's Diner. I just knew it was north of Grand Rapids off the 131. I suppose it took us about an hour to get up there and thanks to Google's 411 we got the address and popped it on the TomTom.
Everyone should remember the diner from the paper towel commercials of our childhoods, but I saw it on Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network a couple of years ago. It looks exactly like the commercials, but the food certainly was not as good as it seemed on the show.
On Valentine's Day this year we drove over to Joe's Gizzard City outside of Lansing, another featured dive from Triple-D and the gizzards were awesome, everything else including the service was horrible. I've come to expect it as the places we went to in AZ and IL that were featured have been the same way.
Matt's Big Breakfast, Chino Bandido, Hot Dougs, Joe's Gizzard City, Rosie's Diner... where to next?
