Spring is Bouncing Round the Room

It's been in the 50s and 60s the last few days here in the oasis of Delton, MI. A far cry from last month, see pic.
The back yard has lost it's hold on the last remaining snow banks and we had the sliding glass door open to the basement last evening and this morning. The birds are chirping and the small critters are being hit by cars on the roads again. Spring is near!
Tomorrow Jeremie and I are heading down to Shipshewana, IN with Aunt Nancy, Mabel, Lady Co-Worker, Jeremie and myself. I have not been to this mysterious Amish town since I was still writing angst ridden, pathetic, suicide poetry. Jr High people!!! Although, the last time I headed down with Grandma Sandy we were there for the giant flea market. This time around we are heading to the cheese factory, the bulk goods store, the breakfast buffet Amish cooking place and possibly a little Amish lunch before heading home. Aunt Nancy knows all the coolest places around here and has been taking us around with her quite often. It is awesome!!!
This time around in Michigan we are here to explore. We are already planning camping trips to the northland... the U-P, eh? And kayaking!!! Note to self: purchase kayak.

I have been working at National City Mortgage in Kalamazoo and Jerm is still looking for a new job to call his own. It's a bit of a rift for us right now. We have ended up in the state with the highest unemployment rates in the nation. I'm not expecting miracles... but really I am. Luckily cleaning and doing odd jobs for the family has been keeping him occupied in his spare time.

Two weeks ago we headed up to Traverse City with Aunt Nancy and did a bit of shopping and ate at this delicious brewery. OMFG the best root beer float in the whole world. I really mean it. The vanilla ice cream is MALTED!!! Malted I tell you! It's custom made just for them, so good luck finding it any where else in the USA. You'll have to come here. So we suffered the blizzard conditions on the way back and Nancy forced us to listen to her favorite song from the 70s, "Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road" like a bigillion times. It was a great trip and we had a lot of fun wandering around the town and then through the forest furniture place. I can't wait to get up there again when it is a bit warmer. I need more cherries!
And yes, this was really the bathroom at the furniture store. They have everyone covered, don't they?
